Janet Ann Myrick

I have always enjoyed painting. I did a lot of the Donna Dewberry art, which is double loading the paint brush with acrylic paint. I eventually joined a watercolor group in our retirement community. Eventually the group ended so I went online to enter art challenges on different websites. I like the sites that have challenges each month as it gives me a subject and reason to finish a painting.

What does painting do for you?

Painting gives me a project to do. I don’t like just painting something, I like painting for a purpose – a contest or painting for a present to give to my friends of their pets.

A favorite quote:

You don’t know if you can do something unless you try it.

How does community play a role in your creative practice?

I don’t always join in on the community sessions but I do watch the replays. I love the conversations and the talents of the community. I love to watch Susan paint.
